The Cradle Of Human Kind is one of eight South African Heritage sites.

It’s the world’s richest hominid sites to experience the birthplace of life, witness how we evolved into the people we are today. This tour will familiarize you with why Africa is known and widely rated as the motherland of humans!

The second half of this tour is all about human culture! In South Africa, we believe in diversity, and we are a rainbow nation. Lesedi Cultural Village is about exploring cultural creativity through dancing and crafting.

Overview:

Day 1:

We will depart from your hotel in either Pretoria/Johannesburg to begin this experience. The journey starts at Freedom Park, a memorial to honor those who sacrificed their lives to win freedom, you will learn about the gathering of different kings. Continue the experience by visiting one of the oldest squares in Pretoria, where the British and the Afrikaner held meetings during the Apartheid era.

We will then visit the Parliament which is the housing office of the South African President.  We will also visit the Voortrekker Monument where you will grasp some of the living struggles of the Afrikaners in South Africa. We will then continue to the Cullinan Mine to tour the operation and see workers mining for real diamonds.

Day 2:       

Johannesburg History Tour

We will start the day with a drive through Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg, one of Africa’s largest cities, famously known as the city of gold. We will then visit The Constitutional Hill to learn about the rough treatment of the inmates of The Old Fort Prison, which has seen the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. From there we will explore the town and pass by Mahatma Gandhi Square before reaching the Apartheid Museum, where you will learn about the South African Apartheid Era.

We will then take to you to experience in the streets of Soweto,

beginning at Vilakazi Street – which is the street that is famously known for producing two Nobel Peace Prize winners Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu!

You will then proceed to Nelson Mandela House and pass by the Desmond Tutu House before indulging in local cuisine. We will end the day at Hector Peterson Memorial while learning about the life about people in the rural areas.

Day 3:  

Cradle of Human Kind

You will be picked up from your hotel in either Johannesburg or Pretoria to start this fantastic day!

We will take you on a guided tour to The Cradle Of Human Kind where you will begin your experience by first visiting the Sterkfontein Caves for an underground tour. Which will take about an hour and 30 minutes before departing for the Man Made Museum at The Maropeng information center. We will then continue to the tour by visiting the Lesedi Cultural Village where you will get a close look at diverse cultures of South Africa and enjoy the experience of song and dance.

Day 1

Day 2

Visit The Constitutional Hill to learn about some turbulent treatment of the inmates of The Old Fort Prison, which has seen the likes of Mahatma Ghandi and Nelson Mandela. Explore the town and pass by Mahatma Ghandi Square before reaching the Apartheid Museum, where you will learn about the South African Apartheid Era. Later you will arrive to the streets of Soweto. This exploration begins in Vilakazi Street, the street that is famously known for producing two Nobel Peace Prize winners Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. You will then proceed to Nelson Mandela House and pass by the Desmond Tutu House before indulging in local cuisine. Ending the day at Hector Peterson Memorial while learning about the life about people in the townships, and then return to your hotel.

Day 3
You will be collected from your hotel in either Johannesburg or Pretoria. Your tour guide will give you a brief history of places you pass as you travel to The Cradle of Human Kind. Here you will begin your experience by first visiting the Sterkfontein Caves for an underground tour. After about an hour and 30 you will depart to the museum at The Maropeng information centre. Continue to visit Lesedi Cultural Village where you will get a close look at diverse cultures of South Africa and enjoy the experience of song and dance.
